CIC Update

Registrations for the February 6-8 Concert Industry Consortium gathering in Los Angeles continue to come in at a record pace including a sizeable contingent of overseas professionals.

The CIC’s large discounted hotel block at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel is completely sold out. The few remaining rooms at the Century Plaza (as long as they last) can be booked direct through the Hyatt Web site at what amounts to rack rate.

CIC has arranged for a small number of additional discounted hotel rooms at the four-star Park Hyatt Hotel, which is only two blocks from the Century Plaza. These special rate rooms are only available through the CIC Web site.

Troy Blakely from APA is once again organizing the 7th Annual CIC Motorcycle ride to start off the event on February 6th. Hog lovers interested in participating in the morning ride up the Pacific Coast should contact Blakely at troyb@apa-agency.com for details.

Entries are still being accepted for the CIC Poster Contest. For entry details see the CIC Web site. More than $6,000 in prizes is being given away to honor the most creative posters of the year.

And if you haven’t already done so, please remember to fill out your ballot for the Concert Industry Awards. The leading vote-getters in most categories seem to change on a daily basis so don’t forget to return your ballot no later than January 12th to honor the best of 2006.
