Switching On
The members of Switchfoot were as surprised as anybody when they spent some time noodling around in the studio during a break in touring early in 2005 and ended up with enough songs for an album. The result, Oh! Gravity, will be released December 26th, and the band, with Florida pop-rockers Copeland in tow, is ready to hit the road in Europe and North America in early 2007.
The band will kick off it’s 9-city European tour February 1 at Gruenspan Grosse Freiheit in Hamburg, Germany, and wrap things up at The Riverside Center in Derby, England February 10.
The band returns to the States for the launch of the North American leg of the tour February 13 at House of Blues in Anaheim, Calif. The tour will work its way through the U.S. and Canada during February and March, hitting 35 cities along the way before bowing March 31 at San Diego’s SOMA.
Switchfoot has also booked a trio of Christian rock festivals for next summer. So far, the band is scheduled to play at the Ichthus Festival in Wilmire, Ky., the Alive Festival in Canal Fulton, Ohio and the Cornerstone Festival in Bushnell, Ill.
Tickets for Switchfoot’s European shows are already available through links on the band’s web site. Public sales of tickets for the band’s North American dates begin December 15.
