LN To Run Princess Di Show
“We’re not doing any interviews at present as we feel the moment belongs to the princes rather than us, although we’ll be able to comment on the staging of it closer to the time,” explained Live Nation U.K. PR director Christine Gorham.
The December 12th statement only had Graham Pullen, vice president of Fulfillment and Client Services, saying, “I am privileged to be chosen to produce such an amazing event on behalf of both Princes. I’ve been lucky enough to produce large events for Clarence House over a number of years and this will prove to be one of the most exciting.”
Live Nation U.K. president Paul Latham weighed in with a comment on what a “great honor” it is to be doing the show and promised the company will draw on its extensive knowledge and expertise to make it a truly memorable occasion for all concerned.
The July 1, 2007, show at Wembley Stadium comes 10 years after Princess Di’s controversial death in a Paris car crash, which is still the subject of investigation by the English and French authorities and a regular favourite cover story for The Daily Express.
Live Nation will also be the official TV producer, providing feeds to U.K. and Europe in real time, with confirmation of transmission to North America, Canada and the rest of the world to be announced.
The event, called “Concert for Diana” will feature some of her favorite acts and some of the young princes’ own favorites.
