Warner Lands Roadrunner

Warner Music Group acquired 73.5 percent of Roadrunner Music Group for $73.5 million December 18th, which means Roadrunner Records is now a WMG label.

Roadrunner Managing Director Cees Wessels will continue to run the company he founded and there will be no staff changes as part of the acquisition, WMG said in a statement. Roadrunner’s international affiliates are expected to become freestanding units within Warner Music International.

Roadrunner was founded in the Netherlands in 1980 and its roster includes Nickelback, Trivium, and The Dresden Dolls.
