Prudentially An Arena Name
Prudential Financial is in talks to obtain the naming rights to the New Jersey Devils’ new arena, which is under construction across from the company’s world headquarters in Newark.
"We have been in discussions and we’re very close. It’s down to the short strokes," Devils owner Jeff Vanderbeek told the city’s Star-Ledger.
Prudential would pay $5 million a year to name the arena The Prudential Center. The $365 million facility is scheduled to open in October.
The Devils currently share Continental Airlines Arena with the New Jersey Nets, which is likely to move to Brooklyn.
