SMG Talks Wichita Arena

SMG and Sedgwick County commissioners are reportedly negotiating a management deal for a proposed Wichita arena. The 15,000-capacity venue is expected to open in the Kansas city in 2009.

SMG’s bid plans for 126 events during the venue’s inaugural year, including concerts, hockey, family shows and possibly sporting events, according to the Wichita Eagle.

If approved, the deal would include managing the city’s 12,000-capacity Kansas Coliseum. 

Also submitting bids were Global Spectrum and Coliseum staff.
