Busta Charged With Assault

Busta Rhymes was charged January 4th with misdemeanor assault following a complaint from a man who said the rap star beat him up over a money dispute.

A Manhattan judge set bail at $3,500, which Rhymes later paid after turning himself in to police January 3rd, for the third-degree assault charge and set the performer’s next court date for February 20th.

A man told police he was punched and kicked several times in a confrontation outside a lower Manhattan building the day after Christmas. Rhymes attorney Robert Kalina said his client was innocent and that the alleged victim had no visible injuries other than one red mark on his face.
