JQH Construction Begins

Missouri State University began construction on its $67 million JQH Arena with a groundbreaking ceremony December 21st. The arena is set for a November 2008 opening.

The 11,000-seat venue will feature 55 courtside seats as well as several 16-person suites available for lease at a reported $32,500 to $37,500 per year.

Officials originally planned for a 12,000-seat arena, but announced in September that budget restrictions necessitated cutting the venue’s capacity. Future expansion could reportedly add 1,500 more seats to the JQH.
