Car Hits HSBC Arena

A woman lost control of her car and crashed into the front of HSBC Arena in Buffalo, N.Y., December 13th but the damage wasn’t as bad as it looked.

Michael Gilbert, director of public relations for the arena and its home team the Buffalo Sabres, said the venue was dark at the time of the crash.

"There were a couple of security guards in another part of building, but that’s it," Gilbert told Pollstar. "Some glass was shattered on one of the doors and some bricks were knocked off a pillar. Thankfully it wasn’t as bad as it could have been."

The driver, taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, was later charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving, according to the Buffalo News.

No events were affected including the Sabres’ game the next night or Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s December 23rd concert.
