According to a message posted on the singer’s web site, doctors have diagnosed her with “a moderately severe respiratory infection” and insisted that she “not perform in the immediate future.”

Kylie’s shows January 15 and 16 at Manchester Evening News Arena have been rescheduled for January 21 and 22 respectively. A third show January 23 has also been added for those who attended the performance that was cut short.

Tickets for the canceled shows will be honored for the new shows, and those who can’t attend the rescheduled dates should return their tickets to the point of purchase no later than January 19 for a refund. Shows scheduled for January 18 and 19 will not be affected.

Kylie’s spokesman John Bills emphasized that her illness was not related to her recovery from treatment for breast cancer in 2005.

“Several members of the crew, the tour manager and Kylie have been suffering from flu, but she didn’t want to let anyone down,” Bills said. “She wanted to get through the show, but had to cut it short.”
