New Year Arena Crimes

A robbery at Germain Arena in Estero, Fla., and a burglary at Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif., in January have police in both cities searching for suspects.

The January 4th burglary at Oracle Arena was discovered at about 4 a.m. when two security guards noticed a broken glass door at the south entrance and a broken parking lot gate in the same area, according to Inside Bay Area.

Security camera footage caught four suspects in the act of taking three plasma TVs, a flat screen monitor and three ATM machines. Two other plasma TVs were found shattered on the floor, police said.

Authorities were still analyzing the security video for leads at press time.

At Germain Arena, a man walked into the building January 22nd at about 9 p.m. and robbed a cashier of an undetermined amount of money, according to the Naples News.

The man allegedly put a Target bag on the counter and demanded the cashier fill it with money. The cashier saw what she believed to be a handgun in the man’s waistband and complied.

Another arena employee reportedly followed the suspect out the door and wrote down the description of the getaway car, the paper said.

Pollstar’s attempts to reach representatives at Germain and Oracle arenas were unsuccessful at press time.
