AEG Gets A Jump On HD

The mandatory switch to HDTV takes place in February 2009, and AEG has a head start.

The company negotiated a sponsorship agreement with the Syntax-Brillian Corp., manufacturer of Olevia hi-def televisions.

The Olevia television screens and signage will be integrated into AEG venues, franchises and other assets, including the Staples Center, Red Bull Park, Sprint Center and the Amgen Tour of California.

Both parties said in a statement that the deal-maker was the L.A. Live complex, which will feature the 2,200-capacity Club Nokia and the 7,100-seat Nokia Theatre.
