Charlotte Shed On The Block

The 18,812-capacity Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Charlotte, N.C., is rumored to be the next venue being shopped by Live Nation although the company says that isn’t true.

The sale of the shed, originally named Blockbuster Pavilion, is reportedly being handled by commercial real estate brokerage CB Richard Ellis but Charlotte CB reps aren’t saying, according to the Charlotte Business Journal.

The Journal cites a report by Goldman Sachs Group Inc. analyst Mark Wienkes that lists the concert venue as the next likely to go on the block because the real estate it sits on could be more valuable.

However, Live Nation spokesman John Vlautin told the paper the company isn’t planning to sell the shed.

A recent evaluation of Live Nation’s real estate holdings prompted the move to hive off some properties, and more could end up for sale as the company turns its focus to mid-sized venues.

Other Live Nation sheds on the block include Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Noblesville, Ind., Germain Amphitheatre near Cleveland, and Sleep Train Amphitheatre in Marysville, Calif.
