The folk/world artist released An Ancient Muse, her first album of new material in 9 years, last November. It’s been nearly as long since her last tour, but she’s hitting the road in earnest starting with a European trek in March and April.

After covering Germany, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, the U.K. and Belgium, McKennitt will launch a North American tour with two shows in Toronto April 15-16.

The musician will play mainly theatres and performing arts centers, with stops planned at Radio City Music Hall in New York, the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and more.

She’ll finish with another two-night stand at the Royal Theatre in Victoria, B.C., May 18-19.

McKennitt’s last studio album was 1997’s The Book of Secrets. She released a live album two years later and has performed only sporadically since then.
