To kick off the tour, LCD is playing what it’s calling a “not-particularly-secret-show” at Cargo in London on March 5.

The 16-city U.K. and European tour begins in earnest March 7 at Carling Birmingham Academy, and will make stops at a number of important venues including Postbahnhof in Berlin, Bataclan in Paris and a pair of shows at the Astoria in London.

The 14-date North American leg launches with a two-night stand at New York’s Bowery Ballroom March 30 & 31, and includes a stop at the Coachella Festival in Indio, Calif., April 28.

LCD Soundsystem is the creation of producer/remixer and DFA Records co-founder James Murphy, who has worked his production magic on hits by artists like Justin Timberlake, Nine Inch Nails and Gorillaz.

The band’s debut release was nominated for two Grammys and was named one of the top albums of 2005 by Amazon.com.

Although Silver isn’t due to drop until March 20, a digital-only EP of the first single, “North American Scum,” was released on iTunes February 20, and the entire album was apparently leaked to the Internet last December.
