The shows will feature material from the three Black Sabbath albums recorded with Dio – Heaven And Hell (1980), Mob Rules (1981) and Dehumanizer (1992) – along with three new songs. The group recorded the new tracks last year for a Rhino compilation, titled Black Sabbath: The Dio Years.

The Canadian tour will launch March 11 in Vancouver, B.C., with stops in nearly a dozen cities. They’ll cap the run with a March 30 gig at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

The newly announced U.S. run will launch in Phoenix April 22, hitting amphitheatres in 20 cities and finishing in Holmdel, N.J., May 19.

Megadeth will serve as main support on the trek, and Machine Head will open all shows. Megadeth’s latest album, United Abominations, is due out May 8 on Roadrunner. The same label will release Machine Head’s new LP, The Blackening, March 27.

Heaven and Hell has also inked in a number of summer festival dates in Italy, the Netherlands and Greece.

Dio and Butler are reportedly planning to hit the road with the official Black Sabbath (featuring Ozzy Osbourne and Bill Ward) later this year, according to a post on Osbourne’s official Web site last fall. The statement clarified that there is “only one Black Sabbath,” but said Ozzy “wishes Tony and Ronnie much success in their project together.”
