Gramercy Theatre Reopening
The historic 600-capacity Gramercy Theatre in New York City is back in the live show business with a March 7th concert by Stellastarr*.
Damian Healey, GM of the Live Nation-owned venue, told City University of New York’s The Ticker that the reborn theatre offers a new experience for concert-goers.
"It’s going to have a very cool feel. The front of the venue will allow people to stand, while the back of the theatre will offer the audience stadium-style seating," Healey said. "No matter where you are, you’re always going to have a great line of sight."
Healy added the venue plans to book more than 200 bands a year.
Concerts on the books through mid-April include Charlie Louvin, Clinic, Mute Math, The Haunted with Dark Tranquility, Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers, and Henry Rollins.
Pollstar’s attempts to speak to a Live Nation representative were unsuccessful at press time.
