First up is Live from London, which was scheduled for March 13th in New York. The event was expected to feature a networking master-class lecture by Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren held at the British Consul-General’s residence, showcases by singer/songwriter Amy Winehouse and an after-show party designed to reflect the nightlife scene of the British capital.

Live from London is presented and produced by British Underground in cooperation with Creative London, an arm of the Mayor’s London Development Agency, and the U.K. Trade & Investment organization. The event also has the support of NME, Time Out New York, Visit Britain and several U.K. music trade organizations.

The second prong of the Brits attack is an increased presence at this month’s South By Southwest Music Conference in Austin, Texas.

The U.K. will present four separate receptions under the British Music at SXSW umbrella, as well as showcases from Wales and Scotland and British music brands BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 6 Music and NME.

A total of 135 British acts, ranging from newcomers to chart-toppers, and more than 750 U.K. delegates are expected to attend the four-day conference.
