Former Mest Singer Arrested For Murder
Anthony Lovato, former lead singer of punk band Mest, was arrested on suspicion of fatally stabbing a 25-year-old man during an argument, police said.
Lovato and another man argued in the parking structure of an apartment building in Los Angeles March 25th, according to an LAPD spokesman. When police arrived, they found the unidentified man lying on the ground with knife wounds. He died at the hospital. Lovato was calm and cooperative.
"He did in fact call the police, call 911, after the incident and remained on the scene [to] surrender himself," LAPD spokesman Lt. Andrew Neiman said.
Authorities said police had been called to a woman’s apartment March 24th when the two men fought, but no one was arrested at that time.
Mest broke up last year.
