The band kicked things off with a typically amped-up show March 31st at the Malibu Inn, in California. The tour gets rolling in earnest with a pair of dates April 15 and 16 at Buffalo Bills in Whistler, B.C. and the band is scheduled to bring the party to more than 20 cities including Austin, New Orleans, Baltimore, Detroit, Cleveland, Denver and Seattle through April and May. Additional dates are anticipated in the future.

Fishbone’s itinerary also includes an appearance on the in New York May 3 and three dates on the California leg of the – August 23 in Fresno, August 24 in Sacramento and August 25 in Los Angeles.

Still Stuck in Your Throat, which is due to drop April 24, is Fishbone’s ninth album and will be released on indie-label Sound In Color. The group is describing Stuck as “a furious return to the band’s true roots.”

The album reunites the band with producer David Kahne who handled the boards on some of the band’s most popular releases including Fishbone, Truth and Soul, and The Reality of My Surroundings.

Fishbone enjoyed a renewed surge in their fan-base last year through several high profile appearances including as the house band in OutKast’s “Idlewild” and the band in the video for Christina Aguilera‘s song “Ain’t No Other Man.”

The band also received critical and popular acclaim for their cover of Sublime’s “Date Rape,” which was the featured single from the album Look At All The Love We Found: A Tribute to Sublime.
