Madonna To Help Save The Earth

Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Razorlight will be the main attractions at this summer’s Live Earth concert at London’s Wembley Stadium.

"By attracting an audience of billions we hope Live Earth will launch a global campaign giving a critical mass of people around the world the tools they need to help solve the climate crisis," said former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, who’s spearheading The Alliance For Climate Protection’s bid to create a foundation to tackle the problem.

The July 7th London show, part of the global SOS (Save Our Selves) campaign, will also feature Keane, Snow Patrol, Duran Duran, Black Eyed Peas, and Genesis.

The Beastie Boys, Bloc Party, Corinne Bailey Rae, Damien Rice, David Gray, Foo Fighters, James Blunt, John Legend, and Paolo Nutini are also reportedly confirmed.

"Live Earth will not only span all seven continents, but the musicians who have answered our call span multiple genres and generations," Live Earth founder Kevin Wall said.

Organisers hope more than 2 billion people will be able to tune in to coverage of the 24-hour event on television, radio and online.

Acts playing the U.S. leg at Giants Stadium in New Jersey include The Police, Alicia Keys, Bon Jovi, Fall Out Boy, Kanye West, KT Tunstall, Melissa Etheridge, Roger Waters, and Smashing Pumpkins.
