Massey To Head Revived Mercury
David Massey will head the revived Mercury Records label, which is being relaunched as a division of the Island Def Jam Music Group, Island Chairman Antoinio "L.A." Reid announced April 12th.
Massey will oversee all operations for the label from New York City and will report directly to Reid and Island president and COO Steve Bartel.
Massey previously served as president of Daylight Records, which he founded in 2000, and as executive VP of A&R for Sony Music Label Group in the U.S.
While at Sony, he signed and developed a number of artists, including Anastacia, Good Charlotte, Cheyenne Kimball, and Cyndi Lauper.
