Beyond Blonde
Former Concrete Blonde singer and bassist Johnette Napolitano, whose work since the breakup of the band in 1995 has focused mainly on projects outside the traditional songwriting field, has announced the release of a solo album and accompanying tour.
Napolitano will kick off the 14-date tour April 27 at Café Du Nord in San Francisco and will hit clubs around the country including Seattle’s Triple Door (May 4), Philadelphia’s World Café Live (May 21), Nashville’s 3rd & Lindsley (May 29) and The Abbey in Chicago (June 3).
Scarred, the singer’s first solo collection of songs, is set to drop in May. The album includes 10 tracks written by Napolitano and a pair of covers – Coldplay’s “The Scientist” and The Velvet Underground’s “All Tomorrow’s Parties.”
The disc also features appearances by producers /co-writers Will Crewdson and Sultan of Catfish Scar and Danny Lohner of Nine Inch Nails and A Perfect Circle.
