Finding Your Inner Elvis
The CKX-owned subsidiary that runs the Elvis Presley kingdom has announced a new promotion that’s aiming to get people all shook up about the King.
Elvis Presley Enterprises recently launched the "Discover Your Inner Elvis" campaign, set to run this summer through the 30th anniversary of Presley’s death.
"The Discover Your Inner Elvis Campaign will be used by EPE to support our worldwide branding strategy," said EPE chief marketing officer Paul Jankowski in a statement. "It showcases the Graceland experience while encouraging the audience to discover their own ‘inner Elvis.’"
The campaign will also coincide with the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest, which will be held in Memphis August 12th and 17th during Elvis Week. Response from tribute artists has been so overwhelming that organizers added competitions around the world to meet the demand, bringing the total number of official contests to 23.
Additional aspects of the promotion apparently include Elvis-themed Reese’s candy bars, a Cirque du Soleil tour, and a permanent Cirque show in Las Vegas expected to open in November 2009.
