The principal singer/songwiters, Chris Difford and Glenn Tillbrook, are on board but the exact linup hasn’t been announced.

The band will warm up for the tour with a headlining appearance in the U.K. at Guilfest in Guilford, Surrey, on July 14th.

Other artists on the roster for the three-day event include Madness, Supergrass, Morcheeba, Rodrigo y Gabriela, The Hold Steady, Toots and the Maytals, Richard Thompson and Uriah Heap.

The U.S. leg of The Quintessential Tour kicks off July 31 at the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis, Mass., and will make stops in notable venues in 11 cities around the country including New York’s Beacon Theatre (August 3), Filene Center at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Va. (August 9), The Grove of Anaheim (August 12) and the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles (August 13). More dates are expected to be announced in the future.

Tickets for all U.S. shows are currently on pre-sale through the band’s web site, www.squeezeofficial.com.

Squeeze will open the U.K. portion of the tour November 27 at Guildhall in Southampton. So far the band is scheduled to make eight stops including Glasgow, Newcastle, Wolverhampton, Bristol, London, Manchester and Liverpool. As of press time, the Essential Squeeze CD and a DVD version of the collection (both of which are scheduled for release in the U.K. on April 30), as well as the remastered reissues are not currently scheduled for release in the U.S.

The band promises on its web site that discussions about releases in other countries are under way.
