The band will kick things off with three dates in California: May 8 at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, May 9 at the Grand Ball Room at Regency Center in San Francisco and May 10 at the Key Club in West Hollywood.

Then they’ll head to Europe for a few weeks to hit the Summer festival circuit, making appearances at Germany’s (June 1) and (June 2) and in the U.K. (June 22).

The band’s full blown North American tour launches June 28 at Atlanta’s Roxy Theatre and includes stops at theatres across the U.S. and Canada including Nashville’s Mercy Lounge (June30), Pittsburgh’s Mr. Small’s Theatre (July 3), Chicago’s Double Door (July 10), Toronto’s Kool Haus (July 11) and Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel in Providence, R.I. (July 25).

Along the way, TCP will also drop in on a slew of festivals including the Ann Arbor Summer Festival in Michigan (July 1), Milwaukee’s Summerfest (July 5), the Winnipeg Folk Festival in Manitoba (July 7 and 8), the Grassroots Festival in Trumansburg, N.Y. (July 20), and Floyd Fest in Floyd, Va. (July 28).

The Cat Empire’s last album, Two Shoes, was recorded in Havana, Cuba, at the same studio where one of the island’s most famous exports, Buena Vista Social Club, recorded and featured production by Jerry Boys, who credits include artists ranging from BVSC to The Beatles.
