Montreux Shows Its Hand

The famously eclectic Montreux Jazz Festival has more than lived up to its image by announcing that this year’s bill includes Norah Jones, Beenie Man, Foreigner, Jimmy Cliff, Pet Shop Boys, Chick Corea & Gary Burton, and the Wu-Tang Clan.

The 41st staging of the annual 16-day event will also have Beastie Boys, Tori Amos, Sly & The Family Stone, and top European DJ Laurent Garnier.

Festival founder Claude Nobs’ Montreux Jazz press conference went ahead at Bern Culture Centre April 19.

The other acts on the July 6-21 bill include The Chemical Brothers, Faithless, Wilco, Jeff Beck, Rickie Lee Jones, Van Morrison, Seal, John Legend, Youssou N’Dour, Dr. John, George Benson & Al Jarreau, Paolo Nutini, and The Good, The Bad & The Queen.
