DiFranco, accompanied by touring partner Todd Sickafoose on upright bass, will play six shows at outdoor venues in July, including Humphrey’s Concerts by the Sea in San Diego (July 11), the Prospect Park Bandshell in Brooklyn, N.Y. (July 18), the Chatfield Nature Preserve in Littleton, Colo. (July 22), and the Guelph Lake Conservation Area in Ontario (July 29).

The singer is also has one fall gig on the books so far: September 1 at the Bijou Theatre in Knoxville, Tenn. Her web site promises more dates will be announced in the future, but cautions, “Don’t expect Ani to tour as much as she has in the past, after all [daughter] Petah needs to learn how to crawl before we start putting her to work as a roadie!”

DiFranco’s touring hit a snag in 2005 when she was diagnosed with tendonitis in her wrists and hands. She returned to the road with a much lighter schedule, but even that came to a halt with the birth of her daughter on January 20 of this year.
