The band’s 32-city trek will take them to clubs across North America, including the Satellite Ballroom in Charlottesville, Va. (June 13), Common Grounds in Gainesville, Fla. (June 16), Emo’s in Austin, Texas (June 24), the Troubadour in West Hollywood, Calif. (June 30), the Doug Fir Lounge in Portland, Ore. (July 3) and Lee’s Palace in Toronto (July 16).

Battles is also scheduled to play at this year’s in Chicago on July 14.

Other artists booked for the July 14-17 event include Yoko Ono, Sonic Youth, Cat Power, Clipse, De La Soul, Grizzly Bear, New Pornographers, Of Montreal, Klaxons and Menomena.

For those not in the know, math rock is a complex style of rock music marked by odd time signatures (7/8 or 11/8 instead of something more traditional like 4/4 or 6/8), shifting meters, and dissonant harmonies.

Battles’ lineup includes four well known musicans: ex-Helmet drummer John Stanier, ex-Don Caballero guitarist Ian Williams, ex-Lynx guitarist Dave Konopka and Tyondai Braxton, son of avant-garde jazz musician Anthony Braxton, on guitar, keyboards and vocal samples. Although the band has released a number of critically well received EPs since 2003, Mirrored is their first full-length album.
