ADE Picks Up On Sonar Vibe

Amsterdam Dance Event has teamed with Satellite 31 to put on a special bash at Barcelona’s Club 13, on the eve of the city’s three-day Sonar Festival.

Satellite 31 is funded by MusicXport.nl, the Dutch music office, and was set up to showcase the nation’s dance music talent around Europe.

The first one was at Berlin’s VCF Club on March 24. It turned out to be such a success that the June 13 show in Barcelona will be followed by others at the U.K.’s London Calling (June 29) and Popkomm in Berlin (September 22).

The acts on the Barcelona bill include Steve Rachmad, Mason, ISIS (a.k.a. 100percent ISIS), Edwin Oosterwal, Warren Fellow, Onno, Terry Toner, Philip Young, Taras, Sandrien and Sanproper.

Sónar, officially described as a festival of "advanced music and multimedia art," starts the following day and runs through to June 16. Last year’s Sonar pulled in about 80,000 visitors and many will already be in town in time for the ADE showcase.

Amsterdam Dance Event, recognized as Europe’s main electronic music and dance conference, takes place October 18-20.
