Freddie Scott Dies

Freddie Scott, 74, singer of the 1963 Top 10 hit "Hey Girl," died June 4th of heart failure at his home in Queens, N.Y.

The singer, nicknamed "the million-dollar baby" by producer Clyde Otis, enjoyed additional hits with "Are you Lonely for Me?" and "Am I Grooving You?"

In 2001 Scott released Brand New Man, his first album of new songs in 30 years.
