CMA Fest Beats Record

The Country Music Association’s annual festival beat its own attendance record, bringing in an aggregate attendance of 191,154 fans June 7-10, a 14 percent increase in single ticket sales from last year.

Alan Jackson, Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood and Martina McBride were among the artists that performed, all who donated their time for free.

2006 reported aggregate attendance of about 161,000, an increase from 2005’s 145,000.

Half of the net proceeds are donated to the music education program, "Keep the Music Playing," through a partnership with the Nashville Alliance for Public Education.
