Lights Out At MetroCentre

The lights go out at the MetroCentre in Rockford, Ill., in July following the end of the season for the city’s indoor football team, and they’re expected to stay out until November.

The 10,000-seat arena, which is scheduled for $23 million in renovations, will undergo mostly interior upgrades in the coming months; exterior renovations will be completed within the next year.

Venue officials are also reportedly in discussions for a naming rights deal for the arena, which could bring in as much as $600,000 per year.
