PNC Drinking Arrests Continue
More than 50 people were arrested for underage drinking June 25th at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, N.J., despite a well-publicized crackdown on teens caught drinking at the venue.
The latest arrests were made in conjunction with a concert headlined by The Fray. A June 6th Fall Out Boy performance netted 49 teens caught imbibing.
New Jersey State Police said the majority of the 55 arrests were for underage drinking, the Asbury Park Press reported. About a dozen were younger than 18.
"It’s sad to see that some kids still don’t get it, and it’s going to be a very expensive lesson to learn," Holmdel Mayor Serena DiMaso told the paper.
The expense of that lesson could be more than $500 in fines and court costs if the teens are charged with disorderly conduct and underage consumption of alcohol, the Press said.
The increased presence of uniformed and plainclothes officers at the Live Nation-run venue will continue through the summer concert season.
