Marchetta Named U.S. Airways Center GM
Paige Peterson, the GM of Phoenix’s U.S. Airways Center, is stepping down to pursue a lifelong dream, and Ralph Marchetta is stepping up.
Marchetta is known throughout the industry as one of its top-notch booking execs, and has run acts through the building since 1996 (he began at the then-called America West Arena as event manager in 1992). His most recent title was VP of entertainment services for both the 19,000-capacity arena and its 5,000-capacity Dodge Theatre. He is given credit for bringing in acts like The Police, U2 and George Strait.
Peterson is stepping down August 6th to pursue his dream of becoming a high school teacher. He has spent 12 years at the venue.
