The tour starts July 18 at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom – which TMBG will hit four times during the tour – and features stops scattered across the U.S. and Canada, including Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland (July 21), Toronto’s Mod Club (July 23), Beachcomber in Wellfleet, Mass. (July 27), Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, N.Y. (August 3), First Avenue in Minneapolis (September 17), Seattle’s Moore Theatre (September 26), Roseland in Portland, Ore. (September 27) and Avalon in Los Angeles (October 3).

Additional dates through the beginning of next year are expected.

The band, who’ve released two children’s albums, also have a family show scheduled – August 4 at the Planting Fields Arboretum FOTA Pavilion in Oyster Bay, N.Y.

The Else, the group’s 12th album, was pre-released digitally on iTunes May 15 and hit shelves July 10. The disc features typically droll TMBG tunes like “I’m Impressed,” “Take Out The Trash” and “Feign Amnesia,” and was produced with help from the Dust Brothers and Patrick Dillett.

To inspire fans to buy the physical CD, the first pressing comes with a bonus disc featuring 23 “of those crummy-sounding podcast songs and more in brilliant CD quality sound!”
