The band will kick things off with a 12-city swing through the U.S. beginning July 18 at the Sunshine Theatre in Albuquerque, N.M. Other Stateside stops include the Granada Theatre in Lawrence, Kan. (July 20), the Pabst Theatre in Milwaukee (July 24), the Bijou Theatre in Knoxville, Tenn. (July 28), and the Mesa Arts Center in Mesa, Ariz. (August 3).

All shows on the U.S. leg of the tour are all ages with the exception of Denver (July 19), and Newport, K.Y. (July 27).

After the U.S. tour, the band will head to South Africa, where they’ll play a trio of festival gigs: August 9 in Northam, August 10 in Johannesburg and August 11 in Capetown.

Finally, they’ll do a run of European and U.K. festivals topped off by appearances at the Reading and Leeds festivals in August.

In a recent post on the band’s web site, frontman Jim Adkins declared the new album finished except for some post-production tweaking to add “whip-cracks, explosions, bells, glocks and the occasional reverse cymbal” and said he’s excited about the new material.

“I can’t wait to show you guys what we have been doing for the last year,” Adkins wrote. “We have learned a lot making this album and hopefully, we will not take so long between records again.”

He also said that the band is in need of some good b-side material, and encouraged fans to post suggestions for cover tunes on the band’s web site.
