Sources told New Jersey newspaper Herald News that AEG has sold its remaining 50 percent of Red Bull Park to Red Bull management.
The stadium project was originally set at $100 million but estimates have the project at closer to $120 million, the paper said. AEG had already sold the MetroStars, which play in the venue, to Red Bull, the Austrian energy drink company.
Red Bull and AEG had different plans for the stadium, and AEG grew exasperated with Red Bull management’s numerous changes in its plans, sources told the New York Daily News. The new owners reportedly think the stadium should be larger than its 25,000 capacity and are concerned about the stage placement for concerts.
