Heather Mills has told Sir Paul McCartney "Money Can’t Buy Me Off" by turning down his £20 million divorce settlement offer, according to the UK’s the Times.
The British daily says Macca’s soon to be ex-missus is hanging out for two-and-a-half times that.
At one stage it was predicted that the divorce settlement could leave the former Beatle with a bill for £200 million but the paper says that recent court hearings indicate a likely final settlement between £25 million and £30 million.
Sir Paul’s current fortune is estimated at around £825 million.
The case may still go before Mr. Justice Bennett, a family High Court judge, in February 2008 because, according to the Times’ sources, both parties appear too stubborn to back down before the scheduled five-day hearing.
Sir Paul, 65, and Mills, 39, are using the same lawyers who acted in the divorce of the Prince and Princess of Wales. Sir Paul has Fiona Shackleton and Mills has Anthony Julius.
