Muskogee Center Manager Unlucky
The Muskogee (Okla.) City Council fired Muskogee Civic Center manager Lucky Tarkington July 21st for allegedly using public vehicles, funds and employees for personal gain.
Tarkington, who managed the venue since 2004, was suspended with pay July 6th, then notified by letter July 18th that he had been terminated. Tarkington’s intent to appeal his dismissal was dropped after reaching an agreement with city officials, according to the Muskogee Phoenix. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
A police investigation was reportedly launched following a complaint by a previous civic center employee.
Tarkington is accused of using city employees to make improvements at his home on city time and of buying items for personal use and charging them to the city, the paper said.
A venue representative could not be reached for comment at press time.
