The band will warm up with a couple of shows in Colorado, including August 3 at the Telluride Jazz Celebration and August 4 at The Gothic Theatre in Englewood.

The tour gets rolling October 6 with a headlining show at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, N.Y., and will see the band out on the road through the end of the year.

Highlights of the trek include La Tulipe in Montreal, Q.C. (November 11), The Magic Stick in Detroit (November 14), First Avenue in Minneapolis (November 16), the Belly Up Tavern near San Diego (December 1), Bimbo’s 365 in San Francisco (December 5) and Neumo’s in Seattle (December 8).

Tickets for the Apollo Theatre show go on sale August 3 through Ticketmaster.

In January, the band will head to sea on the floating festival known as Jam Cruise, which leaves Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., on January 4, 2008 for a 5-day, 5-night music and travel adventure. Other artists on the roster include Warren Haynes, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Yonder Mountain String Band, Dark Star Orchestra and Toots & the Maytals.

Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings has been one of the hardest working acts around since the release of 2005’s Naturally. The group has played nearly 300 shows in 14 countries, sold out Jones’ 50th birthday celebration at the Fillmore New York at Irving Plaza, and has become a fixture on the festival circuit, making appearances at Monterey Jazz, Umbria Jazz, Bumbershoot, Telluride Bluegrass, Womad and many others.

The Dap Kings were the studio band for half of the tracks on Amy Winehouse’s wildly successful Back to Black, including “Rehab” and “I’m No Good,” and played as her backing band for her first U.S. tour; worked with Mark Ronson on his new album Versions and other remix projects like Lily Allen’s hit single “Smile;” and made guest appearances on albums by Rufus Wainwright, They Might Be Giants and Robbie Williams.

Jones has been part of the cast of the live production of Lou Reed’s album Berlin, touring Australia, Europe and the U.S., and recently completed filming the role of a juke joint singer named Lila in the upcoming Denzel Washington film “The Great Debaters,” as well as recording several tracks for the film’s soundtrack.

100 Days, 100 Nights, the group’s third full-length album, is set for release October 2.
