Fillmore Springing Up In Maryland?

Silver Spring, Md., could be getting a Live Nation venue.

Montgomery County Executive Isaiah Leggett confirmed to the Montgomery Gazette that the county has been talking with Live Nation, among others, to develop a venue in the city.

Live Nation had no comment. This comes on the heels of the Birchmere in Alexandria, Va., washing its hands of a protracted negotiation with Silver Spring to bring a version of the club to the city.

The Birchmere claims the county breached its contract. If what Leggett says is true, the Live Nation venue – rumored to be either a House of Blues or a Fillmore – would be built on the same parcel of land that the Birchmere was eyeing.
