Absolutely Decider Himself

George Bush says he’s suing to rebuild a nightclub destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.

No, not that George Bush. The aggrieved Bush is a Gulfport, Miss., business owner who dug deep into his pockets on architectural and other plans for rebuilding Club Illusions before the city denied him the needed permits after leading him to believe they would be issued.

"The city allowed me to think that I was okay. So we spent hundreds and thousands of dollars (sic), architectural plans and all of a sudden they denied my plans," Bush told local television station WLOX.

Bush reportedly didn’t meet a one-year "non-conforming deadline" set by the city, which addresses flood elevation levels, parking and other issues along the coast, but the club owner told the TV station he believes he has been singled out.

A new Gulfport ordinance reportedly bars liquor stores and free-standing lounges within 1,000 feet of museums or other educational facilities, and one such center is near the original Illusions site.

Jeff Bruni of the Gulfport city attorney’s office told WLOX that the city couldn’t comment on the merits of Bush’s suit, but added that attorneys believe his complaint has no merit.

That’s Bruni – not Brownie. Bush may not think Bruni is doing a heckuva job, but reportedly has already secured another deal to build his Illusions elsewhere.
