The new leg kicks off September 28 at Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro, N.C., and will hit clubs and theatres across the country through the latter part of November, including the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee (October 4), Chicago’s Metro (October 6-7), Trocadero & Balcony in Philadelphia (October 11), Roseland in New York (October 13), the 40 Watt Club in Athens (October 31), the Granada Theater in Dallas (November 4), The Avalon in Los Angeles (November 8-9), the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco (November 12-14) and The Pageant in St. Louis (November 19).

Joining the band for most dates on the new outing are experimental hip-hop duo Grand Buffet and Brooklyn indie-rockers MGMT.

Hissing Fauna, which was released in January, is Of Montreal’s highest charting release to date. The band have spent most of 2007 on the road touring behind the highly autobiographical album, with a couple of other firsts along the way.

In February, frontman Kevin Barnes, who is well known for his flamboyant stage presence, raised the bar to a new level when he performed five songs at the Art Bar in Las Vegas naked.
