Officer Sues Montgomery

The Lexington, Ky., police officer who arrested John Michael Montgomery for allegedly driving under the influence in February 2006 is suing the country star for slander and is trying to get his job back.

Joshua Cromer’s lawsuit claims Montgomery lied to internal affairs reps about Cromer’s actions during the arrest.

Cromer was reportedly fired in part for posting information about the arrest on his MySpace page as well as acting inappropriately.

Montgomery entered a plea agreement last August for the DUI charge. He was ordered to pay fines and attend an alcohol education course.
