After finishing their shows with Apple, the band will perform August 31 at Snowmass Town Park in Colorado with special guest Ben Harper and then play a couple of gigs on their own before hooking up with banjo virtuoso Bela Fleck for three shows (October 12-14).

The band will also be joined for several shows on the tour by multi-instrumentalist and singer Bruce Molsky, including October 27 at the State Theater in Minneapolis, October 31 at the Renaissance Theater in Mansfield, Ohio, and November 11 at the Alabama Theatre in Birmingham, Ala.

Nickel Creek have pulled out all the stops for this tour, because they’re not sure when they’ll do another one. Band members Chris Thile and siblings Sean and Sara Watkins said they’ve simply decided they want some time away from the group to pursue other projects.
