‘Idol’ Musical Canceled
The cast and crew of "Idol: The Musical" will have some idle time on their hands following the show’s recent cancellation after opening night on Broadway.
Producer Todd Ellis released a statement August 13th explaining he had chosen to "close the show due to a lack of advance ticket sales, a lack of positive feedback from audience members and critics, and a lack of sustainable financial resources."
The self-proclaimed "satirical musical comedy" about the "outrageous and delusional fan base of the hit television show" had its share of problems from the beginning, and the entire cast was reportedly replaced while previews for the show were under way in July.
