Bosé Lined Up For Triple Grammy
Having already sold 1 million copies of his Papito album worldwide, Miguel Bosé has been nominated for three of this year’s Latin Grammy Awards.
Juan Luis Guerra leads the list with five nods and Calle 13 and Ricky Martin have four each. Bosé hopes the November 8 bash at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas will see him come out ahead in the record of the year, album of the year and best male vocal pop album categories.
Apart from Calle 13 and Martin, if he’s to win album of the year he’ll also need to beat RLM management stablemate Alejandro Sanz, who is up for the same gong with El Tren De Los Momentos.
He’d still look to have a good chance as Papito, which commemorates his 30-year career, has contributions from Sanz, Martin, Shakira, Michael Stipe, Paulina Rubio, Laura Pausini, David Summers, Bimba Bosé, Ivete Sangalo and Julieta Venegas, among others.
The producers and engineers that worked on it are up for awards in their respective categories.
It’s already the same category in Mexico’s Oye Awards, where Sanz took best song with "Te lo agradezco, pero no," and has topped the Spanish charts for 14 weeks.
Bosé’s next shows are in Mexico in October, followed by November dates in Chile and Argentina.
Following his highly successful Spanish tour, which stretches through mid-September, Sanz has a long autumn run that takes in Puerto Rico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panamá, Venezuela and Colombia, before opening a 15-date North American run at Los Angeles’ Gibson Amphitheatre on November 16th.
