Guitarist Suffers Head Injury

Mastodon guitarist/vocalist Brent Hinds was being treated at a Las Vegas hospital at press time after suffering a "severe head injury," according to a statement from Sanctuary Management Group.

The band had a Fantasy Suite performance at the MTV Video Music Awards (several performances were filmed inside the Palms casino suites as part of the show).

The injury took place after Mastodon played "Colony of Birchmen," but no further information has been provided.
