The band kicked things off with a handful of appearances around its hometown of Atlanta, including shows at Star Bar, the 40 Watt Club, the Drunken Unicorn and the Atlantis Music Conference.

The quartet will launch its tour in earnest October 10 at WSBF in Clemson, S.C. and hit clubs across the country through the middle of November.

Highlights include stops at SoundFix in Brooklyn, N.Y. (October 19), The Cave in Chapell Hill, N.C. (October 26), and Cousin Larry’s CafĂ© in Danbury, Conn. (October 29).

Beginning October 30 at P.A.’s Lounge in Boston, the band will hook up with Canadian rockers Demon’s Claws.

Stops on the schedule for the remainder of the tour include Death By Audio in Brooklyn, N.Y. (November 1), Now That’s Class in Cleveland (November 3), Cactus Club in Milwaukee (November 5), The Basement in Nashville (November 8), Blind Mule in Mobile, Ala. (November 11) and the Peacock Room in Orlando, Fla. (November 12).

The Coathangers came together in 2006 while members Julia Kugel, Stephanie Luke, Candace Jones and Meredith Franco were on their way to a protest rally and quickly became one of the most buzzed about bands in Atlanta.

The quartet confronts feminist issues with a brash and irreverent sense of humor in songs like “Nestle In My Boobies,” “Don’t Touch My Sh*t!,” “Parchezzi,” and “Where The Hell Were You?”
